Apparently the Broadway production of Rebecca, due to open in October 2012, has “several new songs and the story has been sharpened.”

RAGE.

The story was perfect as it was - having only JUST seen it (twice), I can safely say there was absolutely nothing wrong with it, and they completely stuck to the book, save a few minor changes, and one that was similar to the film.

As for the new songs - there is not a single song in the original (or slightly improved for Stuttgart) score that I do not like, and with someone decent translating could all be kept. I absolutely dread to think what songs they’ll lose and replace for the Broadway show.

I’m glad America is so far away from me. I absolutely will not be going to see it. Germany or nothing for me, I think. I knew it would get messed with. I hope they don’t ask Pia to play Danny in their screwed up little version. She’s above it.

Ugh. Damn you Broadway. I definitely don’t want it to come to London.
